I hiked around for a year down south, Mex., D.F to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua and back. Life is fun, huh? Had an attack of kindney stones at Monte Alban. Thought I was going to die. Went to the hospital in Oaxaca; the guy in the bed next to me died. They replaced him with a second guy. He died. When the third guy died in that bed I began to wonder if they were going to put me there at any time. Nope. Instead I got some X-rays, and I watched and listened in horror as a group of kids discussed the problem, some saying I needed surgery here, others saying I needed it there. My girlfriend said I needed surgery in Canada. I figured if I was going to die I needed surgery in Cuba. Then I lived. Oh well.
But I did get stabbed in Guatemala!
Oh, I survived that too. Well, there's always next time.
Maybe we'll meet on the road somewhere someday. Hope so.
Yalla, Dag.
